At Latency Killer, we believe gamers deserve software that respects their privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. The short version: we collect the bare minimum we need to deliver our service, and we never sell your data. Ever.
01.Overview
This policy applies to the Latency Killer desktop software, the website at latency-killer.glowinabd.com, and all related services (collectively, "the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
We are based in Bangladesh and serve users worldwide. We comply with major privacy laws including GDPR (Europe) and CCPA (California).
02.Data We Collect
Account data: When you create an account, we store your email address, hashed password, and subscription status. We never store your password in plain text.
Anonymized machine ID: The desktop software generates an anonymized hardware fingerprint (a one-way hash) to verify your subscription on the device you install it on. This ID cannot be reversed to identify your hardware.
Software version & platform: When the desktop app checks for updates, we receive its version number and operating system (e.g. "Windows 11 64-bit").
Usage logs: Server access logs include IP address, request timestamp, and request type. These are kept for 30 days for security and rotated automatically.
What we do NOT collect: game telemetry, browsing history, registry contents, file names, screen captures, keystrokes, or any other personal data.
03.How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide and improve the Latency Killer service
- Verify your subscription on installed devices
- Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, security alerts)
- Notify you of new features and software updates (you can opt out anytime)
- Detect abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access
- Comply with legal obligations
05.Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except for billing records, which we retain for 7 years to comply with tax law.
Server access logs are kept for 30 days and then automatically purged.
06.Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@latency-killer.com. We respond to all requests within 30 days.
07.Security
We take security seriously. Our practices include:
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all traffic
- Bcrypt hashing for passwords (never plain-text)
- Encrypted database backups
- Limited employee access on a need-to-know basis
- Regular security audits and penetration testing
No system is 100% secure. If we ever detect a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you within 72 hours and explain what happened.
09.Children's Privacy
Latency Killer is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please email us and we'll delete it immediately.
10.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we do, we'll change the "Last Updated" date at the top. Material changes will also be communicated via email to active users.
